They’ve never met, but “Diet Tribe”’s hunky trainer Jessie Pavelka and Jake Pavelka, the hot new “Bachelor,” are distant cousins.
“My dad explained it to me,” Jessie tells ET, but also admits he doesn’t quite remember how the family tree grows. “My dad met his dad, but I never knew him growing up. I went to college in the same town where he grew up, but I have never spoken to him.”
Even so, Jessie says he thinks it is great that Jake is going to be “The Bachelor.”
“Hopefully, he does a good job and finds love,” says Jessie, who is a newlywed himself. He and Canadian actress Sitara Hewitt, who stars on the CBC TV series, “Little Mosque on the Prairie,” tied the knot on Sept. 18.
“We met through a mutual friend,” he says. “It is pretty amazing.”
Jessie moved to Hollywood with the hope of becoming an actor. His cousin Jake once did the same thing. But for Jessie, his day job, which was training people, turned out to be his ticket to TV.
“It just worked out that ‘Diet Tribe’ came along and I was able to use that and put the fitness thing on a pedestal, where I could help more than just the people I was training,” he says.
On “Diet Tribe,” now in its second season, Jessie takes five ladies on a weight-loss journey over a four-month period.
“Each one of them has a story and all of them have a struggle in life,” he explains. “We give them all these tools. You know when you figure something out about yourself, it just hits you. We get to see that happen. The most rewarding part of my job is when they realize: I am a totally different person than I used to be.”
Up next for Jessie is a role in a Lifetime TV movie, “12 Men of Christmas,” which stars Kristin Chenoweth, and a book due to hit newsstands in 2010.
“It is going to be cool because it is real. You will see. It is about how to live a healthy life,” he says.
“Diet Tribe” airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on Lifetime TV.The new season of “The Bachelor” will begin in January 2010.

Uncategorized NRL personality Matthew Johns has refuted some of the claims of the woman at the centre of a group sex scandal that has cost him his career.
In an exclusive interview on A Current Affair, Johns told Tracy Grimshaw the woman was a “willing participant” who never objected to the advances of other players.

“That’s totally untrue,” Johns told ACA of the woman’s claim she did not intend to have sex with more than two Sharks players.
“I would say that on the night when she came back to the room she was a willing participant in everything that went on.”
Johns was one of two players who initially went with the woman to a hotel room to have sex.
He said he was not initially aware of other players entering the room.
“At the time when I went back I was completely unaware of other people coming into the room,” Johns said.
“At the point that they did I stepped away from it (the bed).
“In the statement made to police it says she encouraged players to come forward.”
But the former Newcastle Knights star and representative footballer said he took full responsibility for the incident.”I’ve never blamed anyone else in this situation except myself,” Johns said.
“I take full responsibility for the predicament that I find myself in.”
Also facing the cameras was Johns’s wife Trish, who admitted she was “shocked and disgusted” when she found out what had happened.
“But he told me every last detail of the events … my inquisition went on for months and even years,” she said.
“If he wasn’t totally honest with me then we couldn’t have gone on as a married couple.”
Mrs Johns also said her husband’s “greatest crime” was “being unfaithful to me as a wife” and insisted it was up to her alone to judge him on that, but added that she found the whole episode disturbing.
“I certainly wouldn’t want it to be my daughter,” she said.
Last night Grimshaw demanded that Johns “step up” and appear on the show to “face some hard questions”. (Watch more: Challenge put to Johns)
Johns’ future has been under a cloud since the ABC’s Four Corners program aired allegations about his involvement in a 2002 group sex incident in New Zealand while he was playing for Cronulla. (Read more: Group sex “destroyed” woman’s life)
Earlier today, Johns was stood down indefinitely from all his on-air commitments with the Nine Network.
Nine CEO David Gyngell said in a statement that the mutual decision had been taken in the best interests of the Nine Network, Matthew Johns and his family, the game and its supporters. (Watch more: Johns enters Nine)
“The fact is, whatever the arguments about the details of the New Zealand incident involving Cronulla players in 2002, the conduct and its aftermath was simply unacceptable, fullstop,” he said.
“I fully endorse David Gallop’s comments concerning the indefensible conduct of some players and the lack of respect for women — and the critical focus on all stakeholders to help eradicate it from our game.”

Mr Gyngell said Johns had agreed the decision was in everyone’s best interests.
The former Test star arrived at Nine’s Sydney offices this morning, along with his manager John Fordham, for the meeting with Mr Gyngell.

Uncategorized Professional handicappers don’t just examine power rankings, stats and match-ups. There are many factors to examine, separately and as a group, when trying to identify winning edges against the spread. Let’s talk about sandwiches. No, not ham on rye or P&J, but basketball sandwiches.
This is when a team has several tough games on a schedule, and then out of the blue plays either a bad team or one that is out of conference. This is where looking carefully at the schedule comes in handy. College basketball teams have been in conference play this month. However, sometimes a team will have a non-conference game smack in the middle of their schedule. There are all kinds of reasons for this. Sometimes games are rescheduled, other times a team has an open date and needs to book a game, sometimes year’s in advance, while other times teams have local rivalry games that have to take place, even if it’s not in conference.
This week I had a major play on Marshall when they were playing state rival West Virginia. This was a sandwich spot for the Mountaineers. They had already begun Big East play with consecutive games against South Florida, No. 3 Villanova, Georgetown, Marquette and Providence. In fact, the Mountaineers had won all those games and were ranked No. 9 in the country.
Then, last Saturday, they stepped out of conference play and took on UCLA. On the road. That is something that catches the idea of a pro handicapper. Here is an East Coast team rolling through its conference schedule, then all of a sudden it has to fly all the way across the country to play a non-conference game. First of all, that’s a long road trip. Secondly, while it’s a non-conference tilt, it was not a game that West Virginia would take lightly. At the time, UCLA was ranked 16th in the nation, a good challenge for the Mountaineers. Also, it was at Pauley Pavilion, playing under all those national championship banners on a court that featured so many great moments in college basketball history. It was a game the Mountaineers were up for, and they won, 60-56.
What stood out for me was the NEXT game. After flying back and forth across the country, West Virginia had to play a real sandwich game, this time against relative cupcake Marshall. The Marshall tilt was another non-conference game, just before West Virginia jumps back into Big East playing in succession, St. John’s, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, No. 10 Pittsburgh and Georgetown. What interest would West Virginia have in playing 7-9 Marshall, a team on a 3-game losing streak?
There was even recent history to look at, too. A year ago in January, Marshall was a +13? dog against West Virginia and not only covered but WON the game, 59-55. Marshall doesn’t have the horses to run with mighty West Virginia, so they slowed the pace down. In addition, that was Marshall’s biggest game of the year, in a sense. Remember that Marshall was 6-22 last season! In short, the Thundering Herd badly wanted to give their best effort, while West Virginia had far less interest. A year ago when facing Marshall, West Virginia had coming up on deck BC, Notre Dame, Syracuse and UConn. And they played like they had little focus on Marshall.
Forget about the law of averages, folks. The sandwich spot made Marshall the play as a +16 dog, so my customers and I were all over it. I liked it even more when West Virginia center Kevin Pittsnogle guaranteed a win! Marshall won the game 58-52 over ninth ranked West Virginia. Notice that after the game, one Marshall player said, “After a guarantee like that, it’s a good thing we showed up.” Yes, players and coaches are well aware of “guarantees” like that, which is why coaches in all sports often tell their players to shut-up rather than give verbal fodder to the opponent. Just as coaches are sensitive to verbal fodder, good handicappers are aware of sandwiches.

Proverbs 22:6. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. old- mature, he will not depart
1. This is stated as a commandment
2. We have to walk in obedience to claim the promise
Ephesians 6: 1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2. Honor thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
3. That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
4. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath:
but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
The context of this scripture is talking about walking in authority. We have authority in our household. We must walk under God’s authority in order to effectively exercise authority over our own houses. We must walk in love, and communicate the Love of God to our children.
Proverbs 4:
1. Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
2. For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
We must apply the Word of God to our household. We must speak life over our families. There is Life and death in our words
Prov:18:21: Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Deut:30:19: I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
We can choose life for our families, We have authority in our household!!! We must speak life and not death over our families. We can’t make decisions for them, but we can take authority over the forces of darkness and speak life!!!
My wife and I have had to do this in our own family and I know that God’s Word is true.
Don’t speak negative or think negative thoughts We had to speak life and stand on God’s promises. We did not back down! We had to believe for peace for ourselves and walk in it. —- this is so very important, it can’t be emphasized enough.
My wife used these Scriptures: Psalms 18:
1. I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.
2. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Psalms 20:
1. The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
4. Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.
Psalms 27: 14. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
These are good Scriptures to stand on and there are many others also. I would like to encourage you to search the Scriptures and stand on the ones that are best suited for your own situation.
Isaiah 61:9. And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the Lord hath blessed.
Prov: 20: 7 The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.
We can claim this in the name of Jesus. Believe God and confess the word of life, Children are a blessing from God. We need to act like they are a blessing and not a cursre!!!! Blessings are eternal! But blessings are also qualified!
Deuteronomy 28:1. And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2. And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
3. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
4. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
Don’t get despondent. Don’t let despair in. Trust in the Lord with all your heart It is never too late to make good decisions. It is never too late to stand on the word of God It is never too late to speak the Word of Life over your family. God’s Word is true. It endures forever.
Prov:3:5: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6: In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Do you want to be a joint heir with Christ? If so, I urge you to earnestly pray the following prayer.
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Your word says, “…and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.” (Jn.6:37),
So I know You won’t cast me out, but You take me in, And I thank you for it. You said in your Word, “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Ro. 10:13).
I am calling on Your name, So I know You have saved me now, You also said, “…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.” (Ro.10:9,10).
I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe He was raised from the dead for my justification. And I confess Him now as my Lord, Because Your Word says, “… with the heart one believes to righteousness…” and I do believe with my heart, I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21),
And I am saved! Thank You, Lord! I can now truthfully say, I see myself as a born again child of God!
